RidgeView is the City of Maple Ridge’s own map, and it will tell you what a lot is zoned in four steps. The free check is not open in Maple Ridge yet, so this page stops where the map does: at the zone code, and the bylaw to look it up in.

A search can come back without a zone. On 1 October 2026 the address of Maple Ridge City Hall returned a card that said “No information available” where the Zoning lines go, with a notice that no geometry was available. An empty card does not mean a lot has no zone; the City’s Planning Department can confirm it.gis.mapleridge.ca · verified 2026-10-01 · mapleridge.ca · verified 2026-10-01
This is what it listed on 2026-10-01 for the property we looked up, which was not a house. A house lot’s may differ.
One Zoning line for each zone on the lot, with the percentage of the lot it covers, and an OCP line that gives the Official Community Plan designation the same way. The zone’s name links to its section of the zoning bylaw.
The PID, the plan and lot number, the legal description, and an area in square metres that RidgeView labels approximate.
Property Parcel Report, Mark Parcel and Zoom to Result.
The Select Data tab lists the map’s layers in groups. Property is ticked when the map opens. Development, which holds Zoning, OCP Land Use, Agricultural Land Reserve and Environmental DP Areas, is not.

Maple Ridge’s zoning bylaw is Zoning Bylaw No. 7600-2019. The City says it is in the process of updating it. Maple Ridge calls a second, detached home on a house lot a detached garden suite, and says they have been permitted there since 2008.mapleridge.ca: zoning bylaw · verified 2026-10-01 · mapleridge.ca: detached garden suites · verified 2026-10-01

This page states none of those rules. We have not read Maple Ridge’s bylaw line by line the way we have for the cities the free check covers, and a summary nobody checked would be worse than the link.
RidgeView gives you the zone. It does not tell you whether a second home of the size that zone allows fits behind the house you already have, once setbacks and lot coverage are taken out. That depends on the lot: its width, its depth and what is already built on it.
Maple Ridge says the information on RidgeView is for convenience only and may need to be confirmed through its Planning Department.mapleridge.ca · verified 2026-10-01
The free check is open in Burnaby, Coquitlam, Delta, Langley City, Langley Township, New Westminster, Richmond, Surrey and Vancouver. It is not open in Maple Ridge yet: enter an address there and it says so, and offers to tell you when it is.
Use RidgeView, the City of Maple Ridge’s own map. Open RidgeView and click Search Address… at the top. Type the address, pick it from the list that appears as you type, and press Submit. The map zooms to the lot and a Results tab opens with its property card. Each Zoning line gives a zone code and name, with the share of the lot in that zone. The zone’s name is a link to Maple Ridge’s zoning bylaw, pointed at that zone’s section. No address to hand? Click any lot on the map and the same card opens.
RidgeView’s property card gives the lot’s area in square metres and labels it approximate.
On the same RidgeView property card, with the plan, the lot number and the legal description.
It opens straight to the map with no terms screen to click through, though its About panel says that accessing RidgeView means agreeing to its Terms of Use. That was the case on 2026-10-01.
